Me and my friend were walking in a creek looking for spots to set some mink traps, when he found an old 1 1/2 longspring at the bottom of the creek. The J hook is the old style, with a cross peice instead of the round "button" at the end, and the hook is made out of flat metal instead of round. I was wondering if you all would have any idea as to what it is. I'm currently uploading the picture to photobucket, will have it posted in a little bit!
I should add, its in terrible condition
Thanks!
John

Like I said, it's in terrible condition. Its all covered in rocks like this, but as curious if you could tell by the J hook? The chain is regular double loop chain, not the Blake and Lamb chain.

I think terrible condition might be an understatement. LOL
