We will be there the first two weeks of January. I hope there are still some badgers wandering above ground when we are there.

Good lord...I've had them crater out a good number of traps, but that one might take the cake. Furminator if your travels take you through Beatrice, NE let me know. Always like meeting people off trapperman. I've got a guy coming from Chicago this year. It'll be an experience I'm sure. Beatrice? I've been there a number of times auto wrecking for old car parts-great area!! Always wondered how trapping would be around there-it looked like great country to trap.

We are heading out Sunday night. We should be at our destination by 8:00 am on the first. We can buy our licenses and start setting in the morning on Monday! Hoping our first check will yield some furbearers!

Where about in Kansas do you go?
I go out every other year to the Glen Elder and Beloit area to archery hunt whitetails and have always wanted to trap in that area. I look forward to seeing your photos of your trip. Goo luck.

Harold I will try to do a better job this year at keeping you posted lol My plan is to use my phone as a hot spot and upload pictures that way. I am unable to post pictures directly from my iPhone and I surely don't want to use photobucket.

Walmarts computer is down today, for liscences in marysville. They had trouble but the bugs were worked out. We were able to get our license. It was a long cold drive with temps at minus 16 but there were not many cars on the road. We drove all night and got camp set up. We opted to start settling big rather than nap so we got a good start on a couple of properties. After being awake for 40 straight hours bed felt good even though the furnace quit in the house. I hope to provide some catch updates in the next couple days.

supposed to get above freezing during the day in a week or so. Keep that in mind when bedding your traps. ground might thaw and freeze.

Have fun guys! A bit of a warmup heading our way over next several days, expect the coon, skunk, and possum back out in force. May even get the badgers back out above ground, I saw a few days forecasted to be in 40s, and that's a huge change from the sub-zero temps we have had so much of lately. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

We have had most mornings in the single digit and the daily temps have been in the teens and twenties.
Starting today we are moving to a warmer trend and will have highs this week in the thirties, forties and fifties.

That one don't count....you wrong footed it! But I will not hold it against you, catch'em any way you can. Had a 24 lb. tom this morning myself but no photographer to get a shot of it with me in it.

Oh just wait for today. Grinners we’re running last night and they must have been hungry. Five stinking grinners in a handful of sets. Nothing worse than seeing your best bobcat set destroyed and there lies a grinner

Looks like you are having fun. Congrats! I agree Harold, they should have their tally docked for a wrong foot catch, lol... The fur looks pretty good on the coyotes your posting, much rubbing out there yet? Last 6 or 7 have all been rubbed here, love late season trapping for those landowners that "you have to keep happy" Good luck tomorrow guys.

Those coyotes look pretty good. The female today was rubbed but the others looked great!

I bet if you guys were here a month earlier your truck would be full. The properties we are trapping are being hunted until January

Stay safe guys, everything is a sheet of ice here this morning. Jim

Today we trapped a couple skunks, a couple coons, a few possums and I snared a coyote. (First cable coyote for me)
I am very optimistic about the coyote movement over the next two nights!

After driving all night to get back home today I don't have the capacity to post the pics of the end of our trip. (Will post some tomorrow.) I will say though that we had a great time and thank you for following along with us!

I always love trapping out of state or out of the home area, something awesome about nothing to think about or deal with other than 'the line'.
