Thanks guys! I got him in Cambria County.I haven't had him aged but suspect he is at least 5.5 years old.He was uncanny but I finally saw him first.

I'm still not a fan of antler restrictions.

Looks like a Texas TV deer, all rack and no body. Any idea what he weighed?

Thanks guys.
I knew he was in the area and had hunted for him several times, the right way.I was expecting him to be in the next county with the rut..but he was old for a reason. This time I did everything wrong,I didn't play the wind.I did just the opposite.I walked the full stretch of the cover he was in with the wind blowing my scent right to him,I made a 90 degree angle to get downwind and settled in.He came in three steps, stop, three steps, stop,he was looking for me.This might sound odd to some but its not the first buck I have killed that was following/looking for hunters.

Hunt where and when you can. Then throw a curve.

I have many deer come up on trail, just wish they would do it in rifle season. My standards are getting lower...

Nice buck!

One time I remember sitting in my stand on public land. A guy came walking down an old road on the edge of an overgrown field. I watched him for quite a way. About 5 minutes behind him came a decent buck. I swear that buck was trailing the guy. The buck would put his nose down for a few steps, pause walk a few steps with his nose up, pause, and so on and so forth. Darndest thing I ever saw. I figured he must have had some Tinks or something on his boots but who knows.

That's as good as it gets! I'm just to the west of you and haven't seen one like that in a long time.
