My pickup battery needs to be replaced been having a few issues and now with the cold weather it is done. So my question is I got it from NAPA and was bought on 3/2014 will I get any credit from being used for almost 4 year old battery. The reason being I could go buy one at a Cenex Store or wait to get it at NAPA again tomorrow?? Will I save anything or get it at a different store?

I haven’t bought a car battery for years , but they used to have a three year warranty . I’m not sure if I would buy another from the same place if it only lasted four years !

Ya that is true. I will see and I do need a good battery that I can depend on. I'm in country that is not forgiving if you cant get out.

Buy a interstate battery, some have a 8 year or better warranty.

I read their warranty statement and it looks like the have up to a 75 month warranty. Considering how long you have had your battery in service, that could mean you get the battery at half price. Of course, if your battery has a lesser warranty, that is going to affect what you have to pay, but it is still worth looking into. No matter the manufacturer, sometimes you get a lemon.

Nearly every brand of battery is ( or was ) made in the same plant right here in Kankakee Illinois. I used to know a guy that worked there before he retired. I am therefore skeptical when I see some of these warranties that are offered!

Call Napa to see if it's still under warranty. If so than they'll either credit you or replace it. If not than cost difference + warranty difference. When I recently replaced my wife's battery (from autozone) it was about 3 months past. $200 I didn't want to spend.

cold weather gets them all eventually.

Call and ask if you're unsure. For a replacement, see if you can find a Deka near you. American made and some of the best cold cranking amps out there. Its all I use in my vehicles/mule. Even if you dont get a Deka, get one with the highest CCAs you can afford.

Batteries die by neglecting to maintain clean battery cable connections at the battery posts and the connections at the other ends of these wires.
Resistance from corrosion at connections reduces current flow, preventing the alternator from fully charging the battery.
A bad alternator/voltage regulator will cause premature failure of a battery by either under-charging or over-charging.

4 years is about the end of the line for most batteries that are in Cold Climate Winters.....if you lived in the south like Savell ....probably get 6 years out of a battery.. Up in your area and out in the boonies....3 winters ...then get a new battery. You can find uses for the old battery iam sure

I purchased a battery box with the short cables to use in a bind if I need to. Used it the other day when the 4 wheeler turned over slow and wouldn't start. Gives me a good piece of mind for the money.

my old 2001 van has been through a pile of batteries , I was buying the farm and fleet ones and every 2-3 years needing another , then in Dec 31 2011 the battery went dead my dad told me he had been reading about boat batteries and the MAXX EVERSTART from walmart rates very high they have a 5 year warranty , 3 full replacement 2 pro rated , well I replaced it Dec 31, 2017 the longest a battery ever went in that van up side I got 6 years down side the new one was 96 dollars

the now require you save your receipt , I photo copied it and put 3 copies in the van in different locations and scanned it and saved it to my hard drive and phone.

call napa if you get a a free or greatly reduced price battery use them but otherwise wally world Maxx EverStart

I have them in 2 vehicles 6 years one the first one in the van , the car is 3 years in and still working

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

what jeepsyco and greencountrypete say, measure your battery holding box and get the highest cca{cold cranking amps} that will fit.
