I just did my first beaver and ripped the castor sack on one side trying to get the membrane off. Is it still good? It's only a small ripe but can see it's inside good enough. Super Glue The Hole Shut !! Or Just Press The Edges Of The Tear Together and Hang on a Wire Till It Dries. w

Do you dry them still if using for bait? What do you do with the oil sack, is that dryed also? Yes, Dry The Castor Out And then Grind It Up Into A Powder, Then Tincture It By Mixing It With Some 190% Proof Grain Alcohol. The Alcohol Will Dilute & Spread Out the Castor Odor and Help It Go a Long way (Toward Making Many Sets) Milk The Oil Out Of The Oil Sack Glands Into a Small Bottle With Eye-Dropper, Use One Drop At A Set For A Change Up Odor. The Sack Oil should have a Fixing Agent added to It To prevent It From spoiling. w

Great Thanks, can you recommend a fixing agent. Opinions Vary. I Have Stored Clean Sack Oil In The Refrigerator Without Adding A Preservative Before And Had It Turn Rank & Foul In The Past. Since Then, I Have Always Added Some Table Salt To The Oil and Mixed Well. Make Sure You Use A Plastic Eye Dropper Cap so It Does Not Rust Shut On You. If You Check The Lure Formulators Forum, There Are Literally Dozens Of Posts Regarding Beaver Oil Sack Glands & Beaver Sack Oil. I'd Check Them Out As This Resource Is A Wealth Of Knowledge. Good Luck. w
