Marlin 39A Golden. I've had it since I was 15 (now 63). Just got a replacement Marlin Bullseye insert from Midway to replace the one that fell out a couple of decades ago.

My first one. It was a junior sized .22 that his father bought him from the hardware store. Single shot and not the most precision machined. After each shot we had to use a pocket knife to get the casing out.

It was was stolen from my father's home a few years ago. Out of all the guns taken, it was that .2w I was the most upset about.

Cant remember the model but had a gold trigger marlin that I bought myself! My dad called around and found a local farmer that let me flip bales of hay over in field to dry when I was ten years old! I made enough to buy that 22 from my Uncle and will never forget the day Dad brought it home! I shot that 22 until it would no longer shoot!

I have had a lot of them, but favorite is Remington 514 single shot, Don't care for the safety, so usually don't load until time to shoot. Most accurate of any I have shot. Have a Cz with a scope now too, open sights are getting fuzzy.

I bought a Remington 550 semi auto for $30.00 when I was a freshman in high school. My shop teacher had a small gun shop in his basement. I actually bought the gun right in the shop at school when he brought several in for us boys to look at. Can't do that kind of thing now days people would freak. I still drag it out and shoot squirrels with it now and then. But my go to now for squirrels is my Marlin 17 HMR. I have couple other Marlin 22s also.

Remington 597. Worked all summer doing chores around the neighborhood to earn enough money to get it. It was the first gun I ever bought (actually Dad bought it as I was too young) and still use it today.

Cooey model 60 of my fathers. Have to all these year and i have countless 22's to pick from i grab the 60 as i head out the door.

Remington Model 510 Targetmaster and a Model 41 Targetmaster - still have 'em and still dead on accurate.
My Grandfather bought my 510 for me in 1958 - $24.00 brand new!

Another vote for the 39a, shorts, longs or lr. It didn't matter as they all shot minute of squirrel.

little winchester single 22 i got when i was 8 for around the farm.dad paid 15 bucks for it so i'd leave his guns alone.40 yrs later it still goes everywhere and always has.second is a winchester model 37 single in 410 i was given for helpin put in hay for a neighbor,believe i was 10 when i got that and can't imagine how many meals its provided.

I had a couple of the old Stevens .22/410 OU combos I'd like to have back. They're pretty pricey nowadays.

I got a Remington 550-1 semi-auto when I was 12. I inherited it when my biological father died. It was made in the early 40's. I shot at a fat fox squirrel with that rifle when I was very young (3-4??) and still carry it when I'm squirrel hunting or late-season grouse popping. I've killed everything from mink to bear with it over the years. My much-older brother, now deceased, carved ornate oak leaves on it and inlayed ivory squirrels about the time I was born. I, literally, would not take 10 grand for it. My 44 year old Ruger Single Six is an old friend also, it has killed bushels of small game over the years. It is also not for sale for even a ridiculous amount of loot.

Posco, that looks to be an early 39 non golden with the fat forearm and true rifling, before the micro groove. Smooth action, is the firing pin broken or just worn?

Stevens break open .22 over / 410 under. The first gun I purchased from my summer jobs as a kid. Used it so much it became an extension of my body.

Still take it on the trap line all these years later.
