Anyone else ever have problems keeping fishers out of their sets when trapping in the woods? My property is loaded with them. I target coyotes. Never had one in any of my sets trapping around my fields. Only in the woods. Using commercial lures and baits for coyotes, basic dirt hole and pre made step down sets I made before the ground froze.

IMPOSSIBLE! Fisher are opportunistic predator/scavengers that will eat virtually anything; berries, birds and eggs, fish and of coarse MEAT. Thus many types of food and lure will attract them.

If your from Michigan and you move from the UP to below the bridge you won't trap many. Of all the fishers I caught in the UP at coon, fox and coyote sets I never caught one that I could keep, always had to let them go.

I pulled the couple sets I had in my woods because of non target catch of fishers.

Fisher have a circuit they travel on a regular basis over several weeks or more.

It amazes me the amount I catch, I have never seen one in the woods during deer bow season.

What did it weigh? Largest we caught was a 13# this year in SW NY. Taxidermist said it was a male but I never weighed him. Apparently taxidermist had a hard time finding a form to fit him because of his size, for the style pose I wanted. He’ll make my other fishers look like babies once I get him back. image hosting for ebay

Thanks my friend. I took that pic before rm was complete, just wanted my fisher mounts off the floor. I'll post some more pics later of finished product.
