Back when "The Tonight Show" was funny and not another platform for the agenda. Johnny did poke fun at presidents but nothing like todays garbage. If you have never seen this skit from 1968 with Jack Webb, it's pretty funny. I believe it was done live back then, I can't believe they did it with a straight face.

I remember one Christmas time show where Johnny was previewing some new toys...

one of them was a plastic basketball player about a foot tall. it was supposed to shoot baskets, but Johnny couldn't get it to sink any. a small "cannon" was up next. after the cannon was shot, you could almost SEE the gleam in his eye as he moved the plastic basketball player in front of the cannon and blew it away!

jimmy kimmel, jimmy fallon and the other network, Late Night hosts, are all terrible. They mostly just tell lies about President Donald Trump, Republican politicians and the conservative public. Jay Leno looks like a Late Night god, compared to the trash hosts, currently on network TV and Leno was not all that great.

Johnny Carson did those respectfully. And with good taste.

I always liked Charlie Callas. He made several appearances on Johnny's show. He was a hoot with all the crazy sounds he could make.
First, I listened to Dragnet on the radio when I was a kid. Then on TV when it came on there. I still have old VCRs of Dragnet. Great show!
