there were only 4 green coon and the guy did a no sale,I believe he was offered 3.00 .What does a .25 coon look like well one that was put up last year froze thawed starting to slip, the buyers really don't like those coon that are really greasy. When the coon are layed on the table and the first thing the buyers say is man those are some greasy coon it usually goes downhill from there. If you go to the OSTA website Janet will post the results if you want more info.

I would assume the buyers of this fur will eventually have this fur either in some nafa auction or fur harvesters auction. Am I right?

Zander had a buyer there and he probably bought around half the fur there. Zander will also have a buyer at Jeffersonville. Harry and his son usually attend the kidron sale. I doubt much of the fur he acquired goes to FHA and nafa

Thanks Brian. Appreciate it. Not bad on the prices. Especially on the coon. Ohio coon fall all over the grade table.

Come to the deep south and trap and won't be long you could write a book on 25 cent coons.

Not necessarily. I am quite sure that Zander has direct contact with manufacturers and thus doesn't go though the auction houses.

There are also buyers that will dress the goods they buy and then sell on the craft/tourist market.

And, yes, some of the hoods will end up at NAFA or FHA. But not all of it.

Neither NAFA or Fur Harvesters are end users of any fur. Knowledgeable skin dealers, that can grade properly, and have the ambition and ability to find they're own end users can get more than they would get at either of the Canadian auction houses.

The average price on coyotes seems a little disappointing. The average at FHA seemed a lot higher. Maybe there was a lot of poor examples of OH coyotes take to this sale. Still a $29 high doesn't seem very favorable.

That's market price for Ohio coyote. I doubt anyone is shipping their western coyote to an Ohio fur sale.
