Is it going to hamper my coyote snares if I put a small ribbon 3 feet above them without a big streamer tail blowing in the wind? Just to make them easily more visible from a distance. Does the color matter? Thanks

I flag mind but not right on the snare location. They are 10-20' away. I see no trouble with it if you're not concerned of thieves. I have used several fluorescent colors, orange is most visible to me. Green is a little less conspicuous, but still easy to see if you're looking for it.

I flat mine with bright orange as near to the snare as possible..no one bothers them where I'm at plus when I go to pull them in the spring I can find them easier

I have marked my snare locations with flagging tape tied around the tree, above the snare, so it has no fluttering ends or just clip a blaze orange painted clothes pin on a limb or bush above or near the snare, no fluttering again.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I've been using flagging tape and have had no problems with it. If there is nothing high enough I will use the orange marking flags used for underground location. Like ADC I try to mark it 10'20' and don't seem to affect the coyotes, in fact I think it may sometimes work as an attractant. When the frost gets to deep for me to pull my earth anchors I make them with a flag after I remove the trap so I can retrieve them in the spring. I have come back several weeks to find tracks right along side of the flag if that says anything.

I use pink duct tape. There are no fluttering ends to deal with It stands up better then flagging and you can place It on weeds and other small brush and it won't slide around or slip off.
I place It about 5' from my snare location. That way If It's down I have made a catch and I don't have to go In every day to check them.

I mark mine with little 2ft. pink flags. I put them where I stake the snare, about 10 to 12 ft. away. In places I even flag my footholds, I've caught coyotes within 7 feet of my flag. Those flags have saved me a lot of looking when a farmer decides to work his fields and not warn me ahead of time.

I'm not marking snares I'm using my duct tape as catch indicators.

The other thing I do Is wrap some pink duct tape around the top end of my stabilizer so I can find them after heavy snow fall. It also helps If you pull your snare and have to come back later to pull stakes. All my cables are hooked up with a quick link to the staking syastem so they are easy to remove with out pulling stakes out of frozen ground.
