* temperature... 28 to 32 degrees.

* Duration... 2 to 5 hours.

* Impacts... unprotected sensitive plants and crops may be
damaged or killed. Remember to bring pets indoors.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

EST Thursday...

* what... very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills over
a prolonged period could result in hypothermia. Expect wind
chills to range from 20 to 30 degrees along the Interstate 4
corridor and points south.

* Where... portions of central and southern Florida, including the
southwest Florida coast.

* When... from 11 PM this evening to 10 am EST Thursday.

* Additional details... limit time outdoors and dress in warm
layers of clothing to protect yourself from the cold. Remember
to bring pets indoors..

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Hypothermia can occur if
precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

Kind of a big deal down there. Remember a lot of the houses aren't equipped with anything approaching a decent heat source.

You could probably go down there with a truckload of space heaters and never have to work again.

We bring these sissy pets inside and warm them up

I have one little cube heater on the boat. That thing is pointed at the sink in the galley to stop the pipes from freezing. The bait fish for my birds froze on the countertop a few days ago.
We don't do winter well, but we don't keel over when things get to 100F and go on working.

I hear that. I worked for a WI outfit on a job in Iowa in 2016. One day it got up to 95 and the heat index was 105. They shut the job down and sent us home because it was "dangerously" hot.

That's a nice summer day here.

Yeppers now they laugh at the southern folk because they don't do to good in cold weather, but squeal like little girls when they get close to a snake, spider, gator ..... you know, the normal stuff thats around the garden and ponds here lol

No gators in my corner of the state. But they have them way down SE of here. And I'll take snakes, spiders, scorpions, etc... over the swarms of no-see-ums and thrips they had in Iowa.

Well, it looks like record lows will be broken in Naples and St. Petersburg tonight !

When it gets above 80 here I'll take a day or two off, lol.

I love KS. 110 in the summer and -20 in the winter. Crybabys don't last long here.

Yeah it was a little cold this morning in the Panhandle but it sure beats that crap up in Ohio!

It may get a little chilly down here at times but what I've seen on the news over the years us southern folks can deal with cold better then northern folks can with little heat waves. You folks drop like flies shot in the face with Raid when it get over 90 for a few days up there.

If you call that a nice summer day I think your brain is fried!! Nothing personal.

To me anything over 60 degrees and I start to sweat. I'll take a 20 degree day anytime.

Brad, 95° is warm, but tolerable. I'll take it over 110° any day of the week.

Lol., I'm in Orlando right now and it's 41 degrees. My three kids are swiming in the outdoor pool (its heated)but the neighbors are looking at us weird. 41 is 50 degrees warmer than these kids have seen in a month.

I'll take the -15F. You can keep the 110F.
