Any of you own or have shot a marlin 49? Good? Bad? Accurate?

I assume you are speaking of the model 49 22 and not the model 49 shotgun. The model 49 22's are what I would call a cheap plinker 22, nothing really special about it. The one I used to have had an extremely heavy trigger. Mine had good enough accuracy to kill cans with but not much better,never did put a scope on it though. If you are talking about the model 49 shotgun they are pretty rare, I believe only a few thousand were made and they were an over-engineered nightmare- but they are worth some money due to the rarity.

Didnt know they made a 49 shotgun. Yes I was talking about the 22. Have a chance to buy one but dont want one to plink with. 22 is not cheap any more lol

Still see a lot of the model 49 22s at gun shows, generally go up to the $200 range- much less if it is well used- a little more if it is pristine.
