The few I've found are solid. Unlikely for me to get any this late in the game.

I took my boy out this past weekend, we got a couple but I found most huts frozen up tight but I may have just not found the right spots. Going to make a better probing tool and head back out. The ones we did get were all large adults.

"Anybody seeing and coon tracks out yet?"
Seen a set yesterday along the edge of a swamp but didn't look like he strayed to far from his tree though. Very little coyote sign the last few days and the snow is going quickly making it even tougher finding it. Deer have been moving and messing with what few snares I do have out but will keep after the coyotes as long as the fur is good. Wishing now that I would have gone after some rats this fall but that's all water under the bridge now.

I am making a probe for checking huts after freeze up, 3/8th cold rolled sharpened and put in a wood handle. I think it will help me find the runs faster without tearing up the hut too much.

Seal up the hut nicely, a mink can go in right behind you, lol.
