Has anyone in nc or suronding states ever got a weasel? I have never set traps for them because I've never seen one but according to our game comision we have them. Any hints on getting one?

Make a few marten sets,you will get weasels if they are around.

They know how to hide. We have no shortage around here, yet I think I've only seen a live wild weasel once in my life.

I will give it a try we don't have Martin but that won't stop me but I have to make it were they won't hang no suspended traps allowed here even conibears. Dumb rule

A set on the ground will get you a skunk too if there is one around.
Weasels have a small home range,so you can make sets fairly close together(a few hundred yards apart) and target a bunch giving you a better chance to connect.I would use a 120 bodygrip as long as there is no chance of catching domestic animals.

Yea its very rural no pets around and I can use up to and including 220s on land. I will give it a shot today

Build a weasel box and use a rat trap. Very selectively targets weasels. Set in brushy areas. Check out the weasel trapping threads in the archives. Lots of good info there.

I think the info on MTP website shows how they get them using empty milk jugs.

There protected here. In 46 years of trapping I've never had one get in a trap. Seen five in my life and all were road kills near creeks with lots of rocks and rock walls.

Rocky wall/ ledge areas and big brush piles that have been on the ground a few years.
