Hey I'm new to trapping was wondering if I can just paint predator traps(for yotes)instead of rusting than dyeing them?

I spray paint all my traps. If they get roughed up during the season they get a new coat in the spring.

What Aix said and do it outside and with a little wind. Keep you nose AWAY from the acetone as it is powerful and dangerous.

Has anybody used the spray on bedliner stuff for traps, or the brush on bedliner to dip traps?

Are you waxing over the paint? How are you getting it off if you decide you don't like it? I've always been a dye and wax guy, but I'm considering giving this a try

I am not a longliner or a predator trapper, but all I have ever done to my traps is dye them before season. I still have traps from the 60s that are in good shape. To me it is just part of the tradition, something about painting my traps just doesnt seem right, but thats just me.

Painting them lasts much longer than dying and waxing. I plan to paint every one of mine that that isn't already.
