Yes, I'm talking about WI Paul. TDHP, I contacted our DNR last year. I got some very helpful info, but they don't seem to have it spelled out too well in any of the reg books. Thanks for the info thus far. This is helpful. 1 thing that puzzles me is they don't allow the use of bait for out of season nuisance beaver trapping. I asked DNR about that, and they didn't have a good answer, almost as if it was a technicality mistake on their part. A person should be able to put out a castor mound, for example. I'd like to see that part of the law changed. I would think using such bait would be a good thing, because you're less likely to catch an incidental otter (I think) in a baited castor mound set than in a 330 blind set (I suppose the trick is to move the trigger wires to the side on a Body grip trap [if otter is a concern]).

Can you set a 330 at a natural castor mound? Beaver refresh them often, especially after a rain.
Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

I don't see how it is not very clear what you can and cannot do. http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/wildlifehabitat/documents/nuswlguide.pdf
