I'm looking for fur friendly coyote load, east and west.

Critera;
1) vurtally no splashing
2) produces lung Jelly
3) Does not exit.

Wondering what your experience has been with this bullet at or above 3700fps M/V.

Let's hear from those having experience with this number.

Thanks.

Scott

That's a tall order!
You'll get no exits, lots of blood jelly but more often than not some impressive splash wounds. But not always, you'll also have perfect results sometimes too just enough to keep it interesting.
I've tried to find the magic combo for both 40 and 50 gr NBTs in 223 and 220 swift. Ended up settling on a 50 gr vmax with only slightly better results.
Sorry if it's not what you hoped to hear, but that's been my (not heard from a friend of a friend or read on the internet) experience on coyotes with 40 gr bts and a 223 same results with the 50s and a swift.
I hope you come up with a way to get all 3 criteria out of them because they're a pleasure to load. I've never had a rifle that didn't shoot them well.

Don't think that is going to be possible with a 40 gr BT. That is close to my daughters deer load-3665 fps -40 grain BT shot out of a custom heavy barrel Mini 14. Will even get exits on deer with it.

Slow it down to the 32-3300 range and you will probably achieve better results. Bullets don't always react the same shot to shot.

Slow it down.

I’ve shot the 50 gr Noslers in a .22-250 for twenty or so years with excellent results (on coyotes).

But you gotta slow em up. I shoot em in the 250 at about 3650. I can get 3900 out of em easily but things get messy.

I shoot the exact same bullet in .223 but at about 3000 fps.
