Never had any froze on the cob that didn't taste like cob. I blanch mine & cut it off the cob & freeze it. Keep great & really doesn't take all that long to do. Another thing about freezing it on the cob is those cobs take up a lot of freezer space.

I pick the cobs and put the cobs in heavy duty freezer bags. Leave everything on as it was picked from the plant. I have ate it up to six months later and it is just like coming out of the garden. Only bad thing is it takes up some freezer space when left on the cob.
