I'd like to come and check out your fine State.

You guys really helped me out on the thread dealing with "Gun and Trapping friendly States." And so now I am asking for some additional information as I'm a Hunter (of most all things ediable), a Fisherman (love trout on a fly and through the ice), a Trapper (the usual suspects, but beaver, rats, coon, mink, marten, fox, and one day hopefully I'll master coyotes), and a carpenter (I know, we're a dime a dozen) in that order. I've also some experience around drilling rigs and farms.

I am asking for suggestions as to what area(s) I should be concidering as a potential fit, and what areas to avoid.

I could be happy never seeing another street light again for the rest of my life, but my wife needs access to "girlie" things. I'd not mind driving 50+ miles or so to town for work and groceries (and she could do her things).

I am respectful and sensitive toward others' "grounds" and am Not looking for your "secret" place, I don't want to crowd anybody or step on any toes, just looking for generalities and suggestions.

Many thanks already for your kindness in suggesting I give North Dakota a look.
Scott

We looked at devils lake area, as we have family there, before we decided on Alaska. Found several great deals on property but wife didn't want to be land locked. We are not really close to the coast now but only a few hour drive.

I am giving thought to both Alaska and ND... different animals, but both states hold my attention.

If others would prefer to speak via PM and not air this out publically, I would certainly welcome it.

Thank you.

You're killin me, Wylee.! Lol

...and then there's that whole Moose meat thing. I currently travel 1800 miles to get my Moose, wouldn't mind shortening that distace by a little.

You're distracting me... I'm supposed to be trying to educate myself about North Dakota grin

Yeh... all the way Newfoundland.
It's a pleasure to spend that time driving up with my dad of nearly 80 years old. We enjoy it and so far we're batting 100% so that eases some of travel time, and costs.

There's always Whitetail in the freezer, but the Moose is a welcome cut above.

Oil has ruined that country to crowded and to much pressure. I would head to SE Montana or Western South Dakota.

You haven't heard that song about oceanfront property in North Dakota?
