Looks like more trapping ground since I am currently near three state borders but with the new lay out I could hit it all.

Minnesota looks similar in shape. It just expanded 20 miles west of the red River to include all the mouth breathing liberals stacked up like cord wood from Fargo and Grand Forks ND. Mesabi would implode after the first distribution of welfare checks.

Just make North Michigan, and North Minnesota and Maine part of Canada. They are already sort of honorary Canadians.

Ayiyi. Liberal logic. "states with too many big cities and/or large population centers mean too much strain on a state’s tax dollars.". I wonder if these nuts have ever considered that it's not the population that causes a strain on tax dollars, it's the balance of consumers vs producers. A huge city full of employed people who pay more taxes than they consume in services, would have a public surplus. Even the smallest country town will have a deficit if they spend more than their constituents contribute. Unfortunately cities tend to attract those who would rather benefit from the work of others. Rural areas require less infrastructure and typically hold a higher ratio of producers vs consumers.

Look at most historical maps of Florida, and the Panhandle goes clear to Louisiana. Was called West Florida at times. I think it still should. Most Panhandlers do not like to be referred to as L.A.. They prefer not to be called Alabamaniacs.

That's actually the same argument I made with someone else.

Everybody knows if you want to make big money you move to the country were the wealth is concentrated. I’m not disagreeing at all. Of course cities make more money, and therefor generate more taxes. But this isn’t about quantity; it’s about proportion. If it’s as you say Tweed, then why would the writers of this proposal even make their statement? “states with too many big cities and/or large population centers mean too much strain on a state’s tax dollars.” I was basing my argument on their statement, just on the hypothetical assumption that it was valid . Of course, state and federal distribution is vastly different as well, and federal spending hugely affects state. Perhaps the reason that cities are a “burden” on states is because the feds fund so much of the unincorporated infrastructure.

looks like both maps put a lot of gun control and animal rights advocates into states where those things are not a big threat

One reason cities per capita contribute more is because economy of scales. High density is just more efficient. This isn't an argument against or for a certain type of lifestyle though I'm sure some one will try to make that argument.
