I think my coyote stretchers are too small lol

I trapped two whe we had the season and my trapping partner got one. Female 77. Males 73 and 74

This one is two years old, and weighed just over 70 pounds.

The mid-Western wolves run smaller.Montana doesn't weigh every wolf but they give an average,every year,of those taken and weighed.Males average 90-93 lbs and females,68-78,depending on the year.The largest weights I've heard ID and MT personnel talk about were about 135 lbs.

Quite a few years ago,I helped sculpt what was then,the largest wolf manikin on the market and we used a skeleton and measurements from an Alaskan wolf that weighed an actual 120 lbs.There are a couple more,large wolf manikins on the market now bur all are about that size.I won't say wolves don't get some bigger but none of the taxidermy supply companies seem willing to invest in creating one bigger than that.I know in my career,I've never needed a manikin bigger than that.I've heard bigger stories though!

This is an adult female.I didn't weigh it but thought,maybe 80 lbs.The skin,hanging,not stretched,was 84".

Weights on any animal are probably one of the most over estimated thing in the outdoors. Unless its actually been weighed I dont believe real high estimates. I've weighed a few, heaviest I've seen was 130# male and he had a full belly. Got one a couple of years ago that I "think" might have been heavier but had no scale. Most wolves won't go 100#

Our rainforest dogs up in northern ID aren't as big as most people think they are. I got one ancient female that was 57 pounds, then my biggest this year was 91. Most around 80 though.

That trapper maybe stretched the truth idk, 130 lb female

One was killed via car a few weeks ago and local deputy told the local paper that he estimated it weighed 125 lbs. Later I found out from a very reliable source, that it only weighed 68 lbs. Having never even seen a wolf before and the fur being as prime as it was I'm sure the deputy thought it was a monster.
