I hope the test of our mars rocket ride goes well...It's not a Saturn V, but it's got some power...

I am just hoping for a rocket that can reach a geocentric orbit with reliability...Perhaps astronauts from the United States will no longer have to hitch-hike to the Space Station on a Russian rocket...

A heavily government subsidized car launched by a heavily government subsidized rocket to sit in orbit and block my sunshine. Bah humbug. Come on, you can't be that daft by nature and had to work hard to be like that for sure. Its a private company launching a rocket twice the size of anything that is currently in service. Something that NASA can not even dream up, let alone get financing for by us tax payers. Its ok, the sun is down and its safe to come out from under yer rock for a few hours now. FYI NASA is funded mostly by our tax dollars. Spacex is not.

This is just so cool on so many levels. Its a private company ( person) decided to make it possible to go to Mars. He drove that car for a while and did not drive the latest and greatest one that his company just came up with before putting it in the nose cone of his rocket. This thing is going to be bigger then the Apollo program ... a lot bigger. And its not done by a country but a person. The Don'tPanic and my 42 answer is just for the nerds on here that get it.
Douglas Adams ( Author of " The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy " ) is right now dancing a jig up there for sure.

Hope he kept insurance on that thing....lots of space junk up there. Don't know what kind of a rider you would need though.
