Old Sheepdog1 had an itch that needed scratching... so he headed northwest to Sammy Petty's country to get in a little fun... I was on that ranch a couple of weeks ago, and there was kitty sign pretty thick... I think they must have bumped a few of them... Maybe more to come.....

Good Job, Gents...

Wonder where those 2 got the idea to hang that red stuff by the set??

Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,

an "inch". It says he had an "inch" that needed scratching. An inch of what I don't wanna know.

Bound by everlasting bands?
None shall take thee

We had a great time in that rough terrain. BB, I think Tank bailed out of the truck on Sammy today and got a face full of PePe LePeaux. Sam said he got to run the rest of the way home.

Is that what they call the big thicket?

nope Boco, the Big Thicket is where I live in East Tx. Sammy and Bulletbox are in the rocky part of Texas with some large hills and canyons. Lots of wind, little rain and where the weatherman lied about the five day forecast.

Uncle BB, the first cat was poor as a whipporwhill, the second one was mud fat. By far the most fat I have seen on a bobcat in 42 years of trapping them.

Hey BB that pup has potential, how do you teach a pup to avoid rattlers? Only rattlers i have in Wisc are Timber rattlers and few and far between. Keep us posted and lots of pics.... you still got those Northwoods nbr 2s ? I got mine and they are still producing. Still got a gallon of yote glands from same fella. Take care

The only way I know is to be with them when they see their first one, and make it a controlled situation...

Make sure the dog knows that it is something to avoid at all cost... My Jack Russell would kill a rattler or any snake in a heart beat... She would tree it first, but after a few minutes she would kill it... I know she got bit once, and I think it was a small snake. Her head swelled some, and she got a little sick, but that never slowed her down...

They make a shot now for snake bite, a before they get bit shot... I plan to talk to a vet friend of mine about it...

They also have snake school for dogs... Where they attempt to train them off snakes... Some it works on, some it doesn't... My Dad had a bird dog that would point snakes. She pointed them a little different that she did birds and he knew when she was snakey...

I remember once she pointed 2 rattlers in a mating fight. They were both big rattlers and he killed them with one shotgun blast... Then she turned and pointed the female. Dad killed her also, 3 snakes within 20 feet of each other in September...

I still have the #2's... I use more Dogless traps now, but I still got them...

Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,

If she is remotely close to as driven as Tank is she will be one hec of a dog, tons of drive, ain't scared of anything, he is for the most part easy to call off of a critter. Two hogs I shot as soon as he foumd them I called him and he came. He was a bit excited on that first cat but I don't know how many experiences he has had with cats. He is a running son of a gun!! Good temperament to boot. BB, I watched her in the pen, you will ne getting a dandy my friend
