I seen online that the traps with a short spring pin are not meant to be 4 coiled but the instructions that came with the beefer spring kit #10 shows a trap with the short pins where you add the extra Springs. I put it together and it seems alright. Just looking for feedback before I get them welded. The kit came with a cheap little screw and nut but I trust a good weld better.

the #5 bridger coil wolf trap has a longer spring pin and it just has that flat bracket with spring through the holes and a little brass nut/bolt holding it like you mentioned.look at the pic in fnt.i have had some #3 with them but took them of we dont need a 4 coiled trap down here.the 4coiled would help you.you got snow and freze conditions up there.hope this helps
