Decided to try my hand at making a Beaver tail knife sheath. It turned out pretty god i'd say! I just took a knife sheath, traced it on both sides on two tails, cut them out, then sewed them together with an easy whip stitch

I Used "Deer Hunters and Trappers hide tanning formula"

Pretty cool Josh. Bark tanning works well but takes time. Also look up 'welt'. It is basically a thin slice of thick(er) leather stitched into the seam that the cutting edge will contact to add strength but most importantly to prevent the blade from slicing the stitches.

Nice idea ........ but the stitching, Google saddle stitch, undo the stitching you put in there and try it. It will make it look so much better with an evenly spaced bit of sewing.
