I'm looking(hoping) to acquire a trapline in the next couple of years. If anyone knows of someone that may be getting out of it in the next year or two I'd be interested in speaking with them.

Yes I know what I'm getting into! I have been in state since 91 and have been an active trapper most of that time. Guiding hunters and fishermen from the Ak peninsula to the Brooks Range was my main income for a couple decades. I'm very familiar with the challenges and costs of AK.

I would mostly be interested in a fly in line with a State permitted cabin somewhere in the interior. Most of my trapping has been snow machine via road system or skiff trapping in SEAK and have always wanted to have a truly remote line. My situation now would allow that to be more realistic since some of life's commitments have been taken care of!

I'll be searching "word of mouth" with folks I know but thought this could be a great place to ask as well. If anyone hears of something please send a PM

Thanks!

I am a member but don't live on the rail belt. Used to go to the meetings at the mushers hall when I lived in Fairbanks but that's been a long time ago..

Instead of buying a line, you could buy an Arctic Oven and fly in somewhere remote.

Agreed, it's something I have considered and will definitely keep as an option. Thanks.
