Is there any money in weasels these days? What about in the 'round?' I suppose they are not too hard to put up, I'm not sure. I havent tried trapping any yet. Should a person have multiple sized stretch boards for them?

The garment fur market wont pay much for weasels on avg. They are easy to home tan and can be sold at Pow wows very easily for decent money.
Another option is to sell them frozen whole to the taxidermy market.

Interesting.
Probably a dumb question, but I wonder why taxidermists want them. Perhaps they mount and sell them. I'm surprised the taxidermists don't just set some weasel boxes. Maybe they've found a bigger market for handling weasels than I realize. If I could sell them whole in the round, that'd be great.

Taxidermist probably busy that time of year and could probably pick one up from a Trapper fairly cheap too.

I have many different boards, size vary greatly by species and even within a specific species. Weasel boards are easily made and cheap to make or buy.

They are very easy to put up...

If you are going to put up ermine for the tourist/craft trade, pay special attention to the tail, right down to the very tip.

A tanned ermine pelt with a missing or damaged tail has very little value.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I will add again to make sure you have that black tail. As someone who uses ermine fur in alot of my projects, I need that black tail otherwise the fur is near useless.

Are brown (off season) weasels worth pursuing or is their fur lousy in the non-winter seasons? Maybe a brown weasel hide's not worth anything?
