I live at what could be considered the headwaters, ( Tagish ).....and its clear there. The White river dumps a lot of silt into it too.

I am at the lower end near the coast 70 miles inland from the Bering Sea. It looks like Chocolate milk in the summer time and clears up in the winter but has a yellow tint.

Cant catch fish on a rod much,even though its full of them.

The Tanana river dumps a lot of silt in to the Yukon. I have never been above the mouth of the Tanana but hear the water is noticeably clearer above it.
