I haven't seen a jaw like that one (factory?) so I'm no help.

The jaw is not factory, just a trapper modification. If it was factory the spacing between the groves would be even.

If that is not a factory cast jaw, there should be file marks on it. Cast teeth would have smooth edges rather than sharp edges from a file. What are you able to see in person?

Not sure if it was cast or cut afterwards with all of the rust and buildup

Kennykeksi, Your photos did not come through. It is a factory cast jaw BUT, it has been trapper modified. The notches look clean but they are not evenly spaced.

I figured it was probably modified but I saw another one on ebay that was the same and also the name "THE SURE GRIP" kind of insinuates that it would have teeth but who knows maybe they are dentures I just can't find much information about it online and was wondering if anyone knew if it had any real value as a collectable trap

I saw the one on EBay, in fact I figured that this was that trap. There were companies that made loose jaws that trappers could buy to put in to their trap for improving grip. Here is an ad for the Taylor jaw, #1 1/2 size. I do not recognize your jaw and like I said before. If it was a factory made jaw, the notches would be more evenly spaced.

If those teeth aren't factory cast I'll eat your hat, or my hat. I can't remember how that saying goes, but a hat will be eaten either way, or not, depending on the official verdict.

Carl, I don't wear a hat, so I guess it will have to be your hat. This trap is on EBay and here are more photos of it. These teeth, if you want to call them that, do not protrude from the jaw face, they are cut into the jaw which would weaken it. If you look close at the photos, the notches are not square, evenly spaced, or have the same depth. Not factory quality in my opinion.

I am not eating a hat based on fuzzy, poorly lit photos. I am therefore citing the "verdict unofficial" clause.
