Anybody on here in the Coast Guard or ever been in the Coast Gaurd? If so what are your thoughts?

Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

My wife high school buddy is in on the west coast. Saw endless pics of him on boats posing with “mountains” of drugs they would seize. He absolutely loved it from everything I’ve ever heard. He is now in Arizona and is a federal firearms instructor.

It’s a long road to wisdom. It’s a short one to being ignored.

Not in the coast guard myself I was Navy, but we had Coast Guard onboard our ship during deployment because they could do boardings that as Navy we were not allowed to do. They were professional and very well trained.

From 1967 to 1994. Started in boot camp, finished college, got a commission and retired from reserves as LCDR. What is your question?

Regarding the post above, the Coast Guard person aboard the Navy vessel was there because he could arrest someone. E-4 and above have federal arresting power that even an admiral in the Navy does not possess. Has nothing to do with boarding per se.

I was always told you must be at least 6'3" so you could wade back to shore if your "boat" sank lol

First learn how to spell Coast Guard, then go for it. Nothing wrong with a military career in any branch.

Coasties catch alot of crap from the four branches of the military, especially the Navy and Marine Corps, but they are well trained and top drawer all the way.
