Be careful out there guys. The ice around here is very sketchy.

Fish are not worth dying for.

I remember trying to trap the creek behind my house one Winter when it was really cold that year. The Creek was frozen over , and I wanted to make some sets on the other side of the Creek. For some reason, I just could not bring myself to hobble across that Ice covered Creek. Well, One day, I thought I would give it a try. I remember one of the members from Alaska cautioning me about crossing supposedly frozen solid creeks. So, I got to the Creek and Hobbled on across it. Made it a couple of feet across the ice , when I stopped and decided to test the Ice thickness. I took my Crutch and hit the ice with the bottom tip of the Crutch.

CRACK!! Went right through!! Barely enough to hold the weight of one Man. Even though the Creek is not more than 30 Feet across at that spot , and only 2 1/2 Feet deep; I figured it was not worth trying to cross it

This happened about 10 miles from my house. The CO was a pretty good guy, leaves behind a wife and young son. Our weather here has been cold warm cold warm for about three weeks. The ice is pretty cloudy.
