wrh1971 OP trapper W Joined: Nov 2017 Posts: 62 NC	Just curious -- do any of yall remove the coil springs after trapping season? I was wondering if it helped in terms of longevity/strength of the coil. thanks

Aix sponsa trapper Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 8,296 Louisiana	Would not help anything at all, in my opinion. Use, over extension, heat, and rust are what weaken springs. The only time my body grips aren’t compressed is whenever they have a catch.

backroadsarcher trapper B Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 4,847 Frazee, MN	I don't I just went through my older Northwoods #3's and replaced the coils with music wire coils. These traps are 30+ yrs old and they probably really didn't need to be changed but did it any ways.
