I don't think it matters much. Good urine, collected right, with sediment ammonia smell and all, whether its bobcat, red fox or coyote, or even a couple different species mixed together, will get coyotes, fox, bobcats to put their nose right on the spot you squirted it. I can tell coyote from red fox from bobcat that's been stored for years. I'm pretty sure animals can tell for a looooooooooooooooooong time. I don't think it matters catch wise.

They don't yessir. There is probably more flat out lies told in the deer attractant advertising world than there is in the fox coyote bobcat pee ads.

I read an article a while back that stated the estrous components of whitetail doe urine dissipates within 30 seconds after exposure to air.
They must bottle that stuff really fast...lol.

How do secretions from the anal glands get in the urine I don’t know that they do, obviously with males it’s not possible. I’m just saying that urine in and of itself doesn’t differ much and usng that as an example. Not sure what lies are being referred to. It a biological fact that vaginal secretions are the attractant with ruminants.

Urine carries lots of things other than salts, for example; fatty acids, hormones, uric acids, skin cells, pigments, and mucins, among other things and DNA can be extracted from it; so it is not all exactly the same. Of course the 95% that is water and the various inorganic ions such as sodium, potassium, chloride, magnesium, calcium, etc. that are common to all urines could be mixed in vat but it is those individual biological components that make a difference.

The urine isn’t the attractant in my opinion. It’s the hormones in the urine. Canines can definitely tell the difference between fox, coyote, wolf, etc. as each has its own distinct scent produced by the genitalia, both male and female, and even individual animals will have slightly different hormone levels causing their scent to be discernible from others. I think it takes a good long while for those hormones to break down to the point they’re no longer detected by a canines nose
