A lot of people struggle getting the hide loose between the front legs on coyotes so you can get your steel or dowel rod through easier. Long time T-man member, beav offered the solution. I use it quite often, especially on cold coyotes like these previously frozen ones ... It's kind of hard to describe but easy to see on video ...

Thanks again for the tip beav.

Could you just imagine the hole In the wall If I would have preformed the hammer throw? LOL
But It probably wouldn't have made It to the house. Maybe next time.

Works well, I used it this winter and it helped a lot, just don’t get in a huge hurry and hit yourself in the thigh

Started that a year ago and it really helps in that area. That is the worst spot on coyote.

Some where I heard of some guy using a bone to pry off the hide or something like that. So I figured why do It the hard way so I started swinging a hammer. I started out with a regular hammer and that worked. But One day I picked up the ball peen hammer and that worked a lot better.
When you get good at It you can blow right through that area between the arm pit. And you won't have to run a rod or your steel through there to open It up.
It even works better when your using the power skinner. Because when that hide Is under pressure It comes off better.
That neck and throat area Is a real bad area for ending up with a bunch of cuts when using a knife.

When you get older you look for ways to work smarter not harder.LOL

I agree, it works good with the skinner. This area gave me fits when I first started putting up coyotes, had trouble cutting like you say. Thanks for the tip!!
