Ok wishful thinking here, but does anyone have a recommendation for a taxidermist to do a wolverine or wolf rug in Southeast Alaska, Alaska, or other? Mike Nizich in Juneau no longer does taxidermy.

Also for a rug mount any tips on proper skinning techniques?

Should I get lucky with a set, I want to be prepared on what to do for a rug mount. I have only ever sold fur or had them tanned, but my son is trapping with me and I think it would be great to get a rug made for him.

I've used Wildlife Artistry in Palmer - Dan Williams.

He's done a full mount wolverine(2+ years turnaround time), full mount lynx(2 years), Dall Sheep shoulder mount(1+ year) and my wife's brown bear rug(11 months). Does excellent mammal work, he's just not fast.

Dan Foster of Foster's Taxidermy out there on Hyer Road still active? Many years ago, he did fine furbearer mounts and was my number one buyer on wolves and wolverine for several years. I've not stayed in touch with Dan, but you may want to check out his outfit.

Jeff Kilmier, (spelling is in-correct), here in Juneau does very nice work ON RUGS. Leave it at that.
You can pm me, and come see a gulo rug he did for me.

Just doing what I want now.

On the other hand......Taximan himself would be a very likely choice for me if I was looking for a wolverine mount !
