I received some castors from a fella in Virginia. This set was included. Green weight was 1 pound 4.6 ounces, and dried it weighed 1 pound 3.2 ounces. That was a high dollar beaver.

Beside a 4 ounce bottle of Backbreaker

Lots of spots in them beaver pods or cods. I don't reckon I have ever skinned a beaver with that large of castors.

That castor looks like castor that comes out of Oregon. I wish the beaver that we catch in Ind. had castor even close to that. For some reason our beaver just don't get good full sacks even after the amt. of time they was froze in this year.

None. They're hard as rocks. These are what I call calcified castors. The insides are hard, chalky and usually have an orange tint. I don't see these very often, but they're not all that uncommon. Sometimes it's only one side that is like this. I have no idea what causes it.

Trapstickman has seen a lot of castors in his time but never anything close to being that impressive. He will keep looking.

Yes sir - are they still good to use in lure formulation when they are like that?

I grind them up with the regular castors and use them.

Think ive only caught 3 beaver that had those, sometimes it's not a large beaver with them either.

I hear ya Harley on that 83 degree crap, had me dragging yesterday as well, course this head cold
isn't helping either.
