We hit at least 74F today. I was sweating, doing chores, in a T-shirt.
Minnesota always sounds like a really harsh place to live to me, but it does make your fur more valuable.
Keith I hope you get sunburned!!

Wow! All that typing keep you warm? Eastern Wyoming was 14 below this morning. I split some wood for the stove to keep warm lol. Yesterday was ~8 and snow, didn't like hauling gasoline in it but at least we don't have to gripe about twenty dollar coyote and thirty dollar cats hahaha. Stay warm, I hear it gets warmer the further south you go. Just messin wit ya!
Oh yeah! & They don't have marten at any price!
I do wish someone would shoot that #@[<£¥«»€©® groundhog though!

Wind chill of -35? Sounds like scarf weather! I haven’t had a good winter windstorm in awhile, and it got all the way up to 30 today. Too darn hot, makes the snow crusty.

I'm finding things to enjoy about every season. I'm glad there's a time for everything - planting the garden, baseball opening day, football homecoming games, ice fishing, finding a warm spot in the house and enjoying a book or hobby.
There's things to enjoy about every season. At least with the cold weather you don't have to be bothered by bugs and mosquitos.
Focus on the positive and enjoy the winter while it is here. It will be gone soon and there be a new season to enjoy. One day before long you will wish you could experience just one more winter day. Don't waste your life hating what's it's made up of.
What from Christ that soul can sever, Bound by everlasting bands? None shall take thee From the Strength of Israel's hands.

Make sure you wear a hat and gloves....lol how bout make sure you sit your (/) near the fireplace!! I don't know when the weather forecasters decided that it was their job to tell folks how to dress each day. Seems like they could tell us how cold it is going to be and we could figure the rest out ourselves. However, there was freezing ice conditions in the Twin Cities earlier this week and they reported 380 crashes on the freeways. Apparently they told them about the ice but forgot to tell people they should slow down when roads are ice covered.

It has been a cold winter here also. We have 9 months of ice and snow and 3 months of tough sledding.

I just took the dogs out. We are at 66F, I could hear some Spring peepers and there are night crawlers out all over the yard.
Yesterday bunches of killdeer showed up. I hope it stays like this.
Keith About the same here, but it's been raining for a couple weeks. Not fun when you have 2 miles of fence to build.

From keets ... "I would really miss 4 seasons"...
Reminds me of Alaska when people would say that.
I always knew we had all four seasons, though they weren't called Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter... Sept, Oct, Nov. = COLD Dec, Jan, Feb = REAL COLD Mar, Apr, May = STILL COLD Jun, July, Aug = CONSTRUCTION

Minnesota always sounds like a really harsh place to live to me, but it does make your fur more valuable. You mean like my prime $6 coon, and $8 beaver I just sold? Spring, summer, fall...great. Winter...not so much. Maybe age has something to do with it.

It’s all a matter of perspective. Enjoying life really comes down to choice, and learning to find ways to enjoy yourself wherever you are. Fortunately Alaska makes that easy. So my calendar goes more like this: Sept, Oct- Big game (Moose & Caribou) season Nov - Feb- Trapping season March- April- Bear season May- Aug- Camping, hiking (read “scouting”), gold panning. Oh and WORK.

84 here right now at 2:15 pm. Sweat running into my eyes. Just got back from checking a few beaver traps. Skeeters tried to eat me. Pulled 2 ticks off me. One crawling on my face. Been looking carefully for exposed cottonmouths....none seen yet, but did see a black rat snake yesterday.
I hate warm weather!!!!

Winter is my favorite time of year and March is my favorite month to fish. My attitude might be different if I lived in areas where the wind blows every day.

Yep, that is downright brutal. I lived in south-central North Dakota for a few years. Worst wind chill was -62 below zero. I moved back west shortly after. No interest in doing construction in those kind of conditions.

Do you ice fish in March or open water fish? Keith Ice fish. Walleye season on the big lake is open til April 14. I can only remember one time that the lake wasn't safe all of March. April is one heck of a month to fish as well but I generally am too busy to take advantage of it. The last day of season this year is on a Saturday though and I fully plan to take advantage of it. Can not wait until retirement. The first year I am retired I'm going to fish everyone of those open days in April even if I have to buy a hover craft lol. Generally though the ice is safe that long. If this year keeps it up the lake will be froze over until Memorial Day.
