How do you guys do it? Does it seem like more of an obstruction to them? Keep in mind that our 330s must be completely submerged

Use a snare they don’t have to be submerged.

All you need is 11" of water. Old run coming into creek or small feeder that is eroded out. Put a dive stick in with a stick dipped in castor about 5' past the trap. No mound necessary for them to investigate.
Not a classic mound set but effective.

To submerg those 330's....take your boot and go back and forth and make a trench ....deep enough to make your State happy.

I’ve got some number 3 off set double longs that I could use but have no experience with drowners. How far back and offset should the trap be for a back foot catch? How long should my stake on the bank be? Thanks

Dont try for back foots with 3 longs. I know they would be a little small, but I’m assuming the offset would be too big for a front foot catch

This set caught 2 in 2 days,,the water unexpectedly rose 3" by the next day and it worked fine, again Blend it in a bit, naturally, which also acts as guiding. I have set this completely submerged or even 3/4 out I dribbled a lil castorium on beige stick.

Any time you try and force a beaver to dive under something your going to miss some beaver. Now If you could find the channels or a cross over on a dam that's where I would concentrate my efforts. Or look for drowning water and use a foot hold. Or like some one said use a snare If legal.

I use the same set as Traprjohn.... but put my stink stick about 8 inches behind the trap in the water...with only 4 inches of the stick above the water....with lure on it.....a deadly set....and you can pop it in anywhere ,with out wasting time looking for channels and bank dens...use the power of lure to your advantage !

And you can stick a white plastic coffee lid on your stink stick for eye appeal too
