The excitement and population control.......... but money is a pretty good bonus.

Money

I enjoy it for the challenge. I'm only a couple of years into it so it's still very challenging and exciting for me but I do have to say when it starts taking 2 or 3 hours a day I'm finding it hard to justify that much time if there isn't some monetary rewards. And at today's prices and my skill and proficiency at it there's not a lot of profit in it.

Something I can't do sitting in front of my computer...

I need to earn enough money to afford a trip to town to engage in my passion; bowling. Its not fair we don't have bowling lanes here in the bush.

I'm in my first year as a trapper and the technicality and knowledge of the hobby blows my mind. I just want to learn everything I can through books, videos and hearing some real knowledge from seasoned trappers.

You best make that last one singular before your lady sees it!

I consider it like golf, pay to play even though I don't golf.

as a kids in 70's I got into trapping for money but I stay all this time for something more I love the out doors but there something else that makes me want to trap every years I guess I'm just a trapper

It was only my first season so I want to learn first and foremost. I want to expand my outdoor knowledge to pass on and teach my young son (want good outlets for him other than social media and video games). I want to be challenged, and rewarded for the hard work. I want to control the coyote population (seems impossible). Want to learn to put up fur and have the rewarding opportunity to sell or make our family beautiful fur products.

I got into trapping in the 90's so I missed the big boom of the mid 70's. Has never been about money for me.

Because since I found out that Santa Claus ain't real it's the next best thing and it pays better than fishing and hunting.

I do because most others can't or won't. Now a days I have to cause it is my job. I still enjoy the catching, and thank God I don't have to skin much anymore. I never was one that enjoyed the "put up" a whole lot.

I love to trap, but I'm in it for the money.
