Been awhile since I posted but I have been lurking!
Sold 166 put up muskrats and 2 carcass female mink to Groenewold Fur truck with George behind the window. Averaged $3.00 ($2.85 to be exact!) on the 'rats and $5.00 on the mink! Far cry from a few years back but what is a guy to do! Not sure what it will take for a large upward movement in fur prices but most if not all of that is out of the average trappers hands! Many blessings though so I can't complain!

I wouldnt sold them if bigger rats for $3 rat, I would kept them another season if that all get

I don't know what a guys to do Hodagtrapper. If i had a bunch without much travel, i'd be on them.

29 at $1.00
60 at $2.00
68 at $4.00
9 at $6.00

I have sold to both Nafa and Groenewold over the years! I have had good experiences with both!

$2.86 for rats. Man, I'm not sure what to do with mine.

I'm thinking about taking them to Weibke. If I'm not happy with their offer, I guess I'll take them to NAFA. Time to empty the freezers. I don't think things are going to improve any time soon.

I think they figure $3 average right out after take s look an use computer or just figure breakdown to come up with $3 average

Well rats are the one thing that a guy can freeze pretty well and fit a lot if dried ones into the freezer if he wanted to. But will next year be any better...or enough better to justify the cost of the freezer? Always a gamble.

I've held them over before but most times just sell them all, too.

Long as ranch mink are cheap won't be much movement for your rats from im reading.

Can't have a wild fur market without ranch fur if you listen to the tman experts on
here but as usual seems the ranch mess holds EVERYTHING down as they flood the whole
world with million's upon million's of pelts each year.

Very few trappers were at this stop while I was there! Two trapper partners that brought their fur in ahead of me and nobody behind me as my fur was graded. Nobody there when I left! Ranch fur definitely has an impact on our wild fur no doubt!
