Alex the dog trapper Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 1,150 Valders, WI	1 fox and 8 coyotes caught. Where the coyotes were caught I saw no fox tracks at all. Where the fox was caught there is mixed sign, about 50/50 which is further supported by trail camera pictures from deer season and over carcass pile. Dave Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping. May I be half the man he was.

scarhead trapper S Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 53 Arkansas	27 coyotes to 6 gray fox, so about 4.5 to 1 this year. Only caught one red fox in 15 years of trapping. Gray fox numbers seem to be increasing in my area though.

I catch one red about every other year but stay away from suburban areas that they are mostly in. I also avoid a couple known good grey fox denning areas especially on low price years.

Swifty trapper S Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 852 Kansas	My catch ratio of coyotes to red fox this year was 8 to 1. Looking over the Kansas state-wide harvest estimate the last 5 years, it shows a state-wide average ratio of about 75 coyotes to 1 red fox.
