Have you used this cahaba snake trap under houses? I guess I'm asking also do you think they will work under houses. Or what kind would you use under crawl spaces? Thanks for your help.

We use a piece of down spout cut to size. With half of a giant glue board in side, Works great. Have had 5 ft black racers or several gardner snakes on it.

I've used bait stations with glue boards in them.

Yes they work under and inside houses....and I've also used the downspout version successfully.

I watched a rat snake go into a Cahaba IN MY OWN HOUSE one night!

The Cahaba traps work good in crawl spaces or basements. Set along edges, no bait required. I have modified my large ones by cutting along the top edges and installed hinges. Also installed a couple metal clips to help hold them closed. It makes it super easy to change the glue boards, as well as access the snakes to spray with cooking oil for release.

I use downspouts too, but when inside a protected place have also used small, clean cardboard box with entries cut on opposite sides and glue boards fastened inside (staples/duct tape) A shirt sized box or even a clean pizza box(new/unused) work well. Position next to edges such as a wall, it helps to stabilize the boxes with a weight on top.
