The OTC fur sale in Prineville, Oregon is this weekend.

Check in for Saturday sale will start Friday evening and continue until 11 AM Saturday morning. Bid posting will be that evening. Time to be determined by when the buyers are finished. Entire process will be repeated on Sunday.

Buyers might be willing to fork out a few more shekels for coyotes after what happened at Nafa.

True. But the guys with the casty belly cats are going to be disappointed. Even the slightly casty bellies won't do much.

Bloodbath on cats! My nephew had 5 cats at prineville. High bid was $657 for all 5. All prime central Oregon cats. Not good.

Those 2 above posts clearly show the condition of the cat market in the west.

The very best pale clear belly cats being very good prices. Everything else, hardly any interest.

Some of the buyers have cats left from last season and are trying to average down.

Unfortunately, this is the new normal on cats.

In my opinion, a lot of western cat trappers will be in denial for at least a full season. Maybe longer.

1370 was my best cat, 230 average for our group. Top cati believe was in the 1400s

How did coyotes do?

This memo has been circulating since last year. Good cats will do just fine, middle and the bottom will struggle.

It will take a year for sure, and possibly two before the memo makes a full circle.

I didn’t look but I was told they did good. 60s or 70s

Due to low volume, it turned out to be a one day sale. I'm thinking a lot of guys are saving their fur for Klamath Falls. Thatnsale comes up in just under 3 weeks.
