Always bitter sweet when the fur is shipped off... always kind of interesting to reflect back... did you learn anything this season? make any changes that were favorable? Heres a few of mine. 1) MI CR's will remain in my tool box with the following changes - 1x19 3/32 Korean Cable with Micro Locks, anchored without extension cable or as short as possible possible. 2) The death ray is a great tool, but it cant fix stupid, lol... even a coyote that has been 'put to sleep' and is now running away from you agrees lol 3) Don't put a bunch of sets out before the predicted 12"-15" inches hits, sometimes weathermen are right... go figure 4) I have a renewed interest in putting up fur as I go vs putting up freezers worth at the end of season to save from disaster - Seriously, only froze about a dozen coyotes this year after a late season freezer thaw last year, and slept much better. 5) Don't Skip the Flip ! - Went back to flipping fur which I hadn't done in 10 or so years - the end result is simply a better product that doesn't stick on boards. Hope your lines were good this season!

Learned listen to the auction houses when they tell you not to send in early caught or damaged fur. Every single pelt I sent in sold for good amounts. Money money money!
Cold as ice!

A skunk can ruin your Christmas holidays... hahaha... Butcher, glad you found some uses for them We posted some video clips of some uses as well on our FB page and youtube channel... will have some more coming soon... all were under ice sets that are pretty fun. Still wishing I could trap all day instead of going to work. Let me know the secret to this would ya? ... I want in on this plan Jurassic Park, you referring to last weeks sale? I seen a little light in the tunnel which is promising... but it depends on your perspective I suppose as people can find both the good and bad in it... I am optimistic.

Don't ride your ski doo to fast with your snowshoes on.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

HAGz,
Dang son that is a WAY COOL PIC! What'd ya do with the red and blond and dark and blemished ones? You went out of state again didn't you, you "state hopper". That is a very nice picture that = hard arse work and I can just see you getting the job done like you did when you were on Rusty's "team" at the Academy. We still talk about you, in a very good way, that you are the type who sets his mind to it and BAM... it's done. Usually with a little bit of improvement courtesy of the HAGz!
You're going to need a bigger house next year. Sell those pelties!

Yeah! If you don't set out traps you don't catch anything.

Odd market this year, early beaver were worth way more than big prime coon here. I also learned sometimes it is better to go back to simplicity and roots. Had fun. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Don't ride your ski doo to fast with your snowshoes on. OK, there has to be some video somewhere of this right? lol MJ... I kept a few, about 10 or so that were spoken for, but otherwise I just shipped em all, good or bad... Pelties - they gone... You mentioned Windwalker on your cat thread, mmm hmmm... I pulled a few bottles of that from ya courtesy of Rusty and Mitchell lol... good stuff man... Unfortunately, I didn't get to run out of state this year, those were all Southern MI dogs unfortunately... I am planning a month out of state next year, hopefully it shakes out well... Yeah! If you don't set out traps you don't catch anything. There's some serious truth to that, lol Prospected some new areas that looked good and had the plans all set but the weather did not allow the trips to take place. Good thing other areas stayed workable but it does demonstrate the flexibility one needs and to plan is OK but to project is not a good thing. Bryce Flexibility is key, that's for darn sure! That, or being able to execute the top edge coyote set like a champ Don't ride your ski doo to fast with your snowshoes on. I know that one all too well Seriously, this is a thing??? ... Thanks Chris Michael, thanks sir! JabNE, I agree with you there... If it aint fun, it's work... and work is no fun, lol I learned alot about using cable restraints and that i can catch alot of fox and coyotes with them.it was enjoyable for sure. What's your setup? We have a 4.25 deer stop, while I only had one chew out of the 25 or 26 I CR'd, I did have 3 back outs... are you anchoring low or high? ... always room to learn in this game if you don't mind sharing. 151, amen to that buddy! Big momma, glad that's working out for ya... the ole Beav does have a trick or two up his sleeve ... Fun thread all... keep em coming
