i just bought a predator call and i am going to go coyote hunting. i am wondering what time of year coyotes start to rub because i would like to know if i am going to be able to sell the fur or if i am just doing population control at this point.

A lot will end up in the $5.00 pile.

In my opinion, you are doing population control now. Also will give you some animals to practice skinning and stretching.

It varies from area to area. Here in north Idaho, coyotes are best from the first part of November until the first part of January.

I would rather have a September coyote than a March one.

You will find good ones and bad ones in November and you will find the same in March. Last season my worst coyotes came from late Nov. I caught a couple late Feb and early March that did just fine at the auction house. This year I threw one in Nov., Jan. and Feb. This winter was different in MN. the snow was fluffy longer than usual with the cold weather. I think you could still find good ones now.
