I found a local store that replaces non lithium batteries on stuff like that for less than I could buy the parts for. Store is called batteries plus bulbs...Got some strip screwgun batts redone for $19....everyplace else was $50++. Took then 2 days to get it done. Looks like there is one 60 miles from you in St Louis: 3567 Ritz Center P: (314) 329-0796 F: (314) 416-9558 Here is the link to the store near me and their store locator is in the upper left hand corner of the web page.... https://www.batteriesplus.com/store-locator/ks/986?utm_source=local&utm_medium=bingplaces

It might say the capacity (measured in mAh) on the battery. Even if it doesn't, it won't hurt anything to get a different capacity. I'd get the same or go bigger.
Eh...wot?

I’ve opened them up before; they look like AAs. That doesn’t mean too much though. Have you heard of shocking them. Look on YouTube for fixing/reconditioning batteries. There are a lot of people who have some methods that work. Long-term though, I’m doing what Preacherman Les said.

I have rebuilt a few batteries packs and you can find cells all over on line. Thing is you have to get batteries with tabs so you can connect them in the right series. Problem with doing it your self is soldering the tabs. The places that build packs like Batteries+Plus use a small spot welder (little pop) tabs are welded, ganging up the batteries. Hard to get the heat just right and solder them your self without sometimes over heating the battery.. I have the 18V Dewalt myself and got my last new batteries in a twin pack on sale. I think they hold up better than the ones I've rebuilt or had rebuilt. JMTCW
