After reading the sale report for averages does this seem somewhat skewed for western cats and western coyotes? These seem a bit high to me.

I'm not going to complain about high average prices. The Buyers should have some ammo to shoot at our Western dogs and cats next weekend in Klamath Falls. It sure did look like they had good clearances to on the Western heavies.

That makes better sense, buy, it's not reported in the averages that way. The report states, western coyote AVERAGE= $103, and western cat AVERAGE= $598. I guess it's up to the viewer to "read between the lines".

Coyotes Heavies in the $100's but semis in the $50-$80s

No need to "read between the lines" on the FHA report.

All you have to do is read the entire report - including the 2 sentences at the bottom of the report.

"Averages are sundry owners. # 1 Section goods unless stated overall". Can't get much clearer than that.

Sundry owner = individual shippers. Dealer lots NOT included.

Will the May sale be better than the March sale, since the fur should be more prime? Mainly rats. Please say yes.

I think the May sale will be a little better. Time will tell.

May sale should be a little better when compared to similar goods. It will have a bigger selection of wild fur which will hopefully bring in more buyers.

How often has the auction house "set the bar" in early sale and then price goes up? I'm talking in a market similiar to what we are experiencing.. what would drive the rat prices up at this time? Two sales have concluded and prices were similiar in both. I just can't see that changing in may
But you never know. Things can change almost over night.

If I remember correctly, the May sale last year had better clearances on coon than the February sale.Any market report I have read this year has not been exactly accurate.Semi and eastern coyotes sold better than expected and rats lower than expected.

I'm not a fur expert but I talk to people that are. There is an interest in rats and heavy coon. If your coon don't fall into at least Ncentrals and are big don't bother. The second NAFA sale is usually better than the first. Rats are cheap and will not vary much, fresh coon will do better than the first sale and better than FHA. I'll know more in a couple months.LOL
