Here is a trellis I have used. I don't use plastic any more, just scuff hoe and some light weeding now. For my tomatoes I used 6"x 6" concrete re-enforcement mesh, probably handing these down to my grand kids...

That looks good. All that green looks a lot better then all this white. Looking forward to spring and fields of green again.

yotetrapper30 >>>> That is exactly what I will do. That actually will save me more room then make a U or A frame type structure.
So how far apart do you put your plants and could I put another row/fence in front of that one like in your picture like 2 feet away or so??
Oh they're pretty close together, probably about 3"-4"? As for the space between rows, that's up to you but I always leave a tiller's width. If you don't, you could mulch heavily between the rows, but you'll need to do something to keep the weeds down. Here in MS I have only cabbage and lettuce in my garden now. Didn't get peas or potatoes in as it was just too wet, rained for 6 weeks straight. Probably be a month yet before I get in stuff like cukes and tomatoes.

FWIW: I like to plant pickling Cukes for salads etc. They are firmer with more meat and no seeds.

Rendezvous what a beautiful chunk of land that is out there. I made some trellis just like that back in Oregon, worked well and easy to move when needed.

I don't trellis a cucumber. While it may work, they don't naturally climb and are not equipped with those little tendrils that wrap around every thing. They spread naturally over the ground, and that is their habit.
