Thanks guys. Found a couple nice pinch points where downed trees lay over the runs and put the traps under the downed trees. Whether the traps are full or empty tomorrow, still a fun day. Also have 12 muskrat traps set, about half of which are baited with carrots and the others in front of bank dens.

might sound dumb but think of them as more of a rutting buck or elk right now instead of a beaver.

One of the things I will look for when deciding if beaver is still in the area is fresh droppings on the bottom of the stream, pond, against and along the dams etc.

Well the good news is that a beaver swam into a Belisle 280 I had set up in the water in front of a bank slide leading to a food pile on the bank. The bad news is that I am an idiot and forgot to take the safeties off. The other 280 and 330 I had set up in runs I remembered to take the safeties off but they were unsprung. I think on one of them the beaver went to the side of the trap where I failed to notice an opening under the log I had it set up on. Blocked that opening off nice and good so the only opening is through the Belisle 330 ... or out of the water and over the log. We will see, tomorrow.

What??? How deep are your creeks?? I do not trap lakes here. Those bright brown dropping show up well on the bottom when fresh!

I trapped one small creek ( narrow stream) that had so much beaver poop floating that it looked like algae!

Nessmuck Around here we have had much of the wooded areas taken out. A farmer/landowner will say he wants to show me where the beaver are and all you have to look for is the little groves of willow along the water. That is where the beaver are. Mostly Bank Den beaver ? ....or the Hut type ?

It's a Stream......not a creek or a Crick........ No no no... you have that confused with what you do with movies on Netflix... you stream movies on Netflix. You trap beavers in a crick.

We have cricks here. Streams and brooks are bigger than a crick.
