Most widedly read magazine in the the US with 38.3 million in readers, surpasing People magazine.

AARP gets their message out to a population that has possibly the highest voter turn out of any special interest group, except maybe labor unions (who are shrinking I think). I feel certain that all senior citizens do not share their candidate views or identify with many AARP stances. Nevertheless, 38.3 million readers is powerful.

Does anyone really read it?

I've been a member for many years. As mentioned previously.... AARP was totally onboard and pushing the ACA.

AARP is just a branch of the DNC.
I get their unsolicited &$*% and just throw it in the fire. I figure the more money they waste sending me stuff is that much less they will have to spend fighting against the things that I support.

What support do you have for the claim that AARP is anti-gun?

I too am a supporter of Obamacare, so their stance on that issue doesn't bother me.

What is there to debate? Whether or not free people have a right to arm themselves or whether the government has authority and obligation to infringe on that right?

I read the article the NRA wrote as well. I would have to agree. Their stance is not anti gun by any stretch. If enough seniors complained about what they didn’t like about it, they would change it. They advocate for what members say they want. They do advocate for seniors quite effectively. By leaving the organization, you reduce your ability to change the stance the group takes on any issue.

AARP is a liberal outfit.

One doesnt need AARP to get senior discounts....
